Bangladesh Cartoonist Association (BANCARAS) is an organization of professional and amateur cartoonists. This aims to work as a common platform for all the cartoonists of the country. The organization started it's voyage on January, 2011. Though it is basically formed by the young professional cartoonists of bangladesh, four renown senior cartoonists are performing as the advisory committee of the organization- Rafiqun nabi (Ronobi), Ahsan Habib, Shishir Bhattacharya and Shahriar khan. An executive body consisting of 11 members are to operate the organization. All of the members are young cartoonists working on different media.
Primarily, the aim of BANCARAS is to keep the cartoonists connecting and sharing their works and thought. BANCARAS plans to arrange several cartoon exhibitions every year focusing different issues, as well as regular cartoon workshops. There will be an annual online publication too, which includes all the significant cartoons of the year. BANCARAS just wants to make our cartoonists little bit closer and more organized; and introduce Bangladeshi cartoonists to the global cartoon networks.
